RHYTHMS – 26 CUBAN ARTISTS FROM THE 60s TO THE PRESENT
Highlands MOTA is located in Sebring (Central) Florida. Created as a Non-Profit Institution in 1967, it is going to realize the dreams of its Founders. It will be a place where Art and Culture will connect with the rest of the Cultural World.
MOTA will open it’s doors on October 3, 2008 with an exhibition entitled “RHYTHMS, 26 CUBAN ARTISTS FROM THE 60’S TO THE PRESENT”, curated by Hector Nieblas. The exhibition will run from October 3 to November 28, 2008. Presented will be the works of artists born in Cuba with several being reared and educated in the United States.

Rene Ariza, Yovani Bauta, Juan Boza, Ramon Carulla, Lilian Cuenca, Servando Cabrera Moreno, Armando Cruz, Antonia Eiriz, Ever Fonseca, Fernando Garcia, Sergio Garcia, Silvio Gayton, Joaquin Gonzalez, Lazaro Graells, Fernando Luis, Omar Martinez, Luis Molina, Eliel Milian, Esteban Miranda, Mario Naranjo, Hector Nieblas, Manuel L. Rodriguez, Federico E. Rodriguez, Juan C. Sanchez, Marcos Soneira, and Andres Valerio.
Followed by an exhibition “Florida Engravers”, curated by Hector Nieblas with the assistance of Joaquin Gonzalez. It will run from December 5, 2008 through March 21, 2009.
On February 6, 2009 Highlands MOTA will showcase its First National Juried Competition, Juror Ken Rollins, Director Emeritus, Gulf Coast Museum of Arts. This exhibition will run until March 21, 2009.
The Director and Trustees of Highlands MOTA deeply appreciate and acknowledge the efforts and work of the artists, volunteers and everyone connected with these endeavors.
